Where is your motivation to lose weight?

The diet seems to stretch on before you like an endless desert, your body has long since ceased to lose weight. They tell you you are on a diet plateau, but who cares. The diet food is boring and you just want to chuck it all and have a slice of hot, cheese-dripping pizza. Where has your motivation to lose weight gone?

Reasons you have no motivation to lose weight.

“I lost interest faster than I lost weight!”

In order to maintain your motivation to lose weight you need to have variety in your diet. I remember losing weight with the Cambridge Diet, but then I gave up and quit because all I could do was drink their powdered diet formula. I had no motivation to lose weight after about two weeks on the program.

“I felt trapped, as if every meal was a chore.”

There’s a real motivation killer. If you feel trapped by your diet plan, then you will have no motivation to lose weight and without motivation to lose weight you will quit your diet plan. I know the feeling, for me it is more like claustrophobia. I feel like I am never going to be able to enjoy a meal again, and believe me I love food. You need to have the foods you love, occasionally, in order to maintain your motivation to lose weight. A good diet plan will allow this and some actually demand it!

“I could not stand the thought of dieting like that for the rest of my life!”

Oy, I hear you on that one! If you are on a diet that you maintain your motivation to lose weight with the rest of your life, then you have already lost the motivation to lose weight whether you realize it or not! Diets should be sustainable, interesting and fun to do, or else you will have no motivation to lose weight! Motivation to lose weight is maintained by great food, believe it or not. And if you find a diet plan that acknowledges this, you will also have found the secret to maintaining your weight after the diet is finished.

“I had serious food cravings that drove me nuts!”

Nothing destroys your motivation to lose weight faster than cravings. If you just try to “gut them out” they will persist and persist until they get you. Why not have a diet plan that acknowledges this fact and accommodates it? Motivation to lose weight will be high and not be undermined by cravings!

“I didn’t like the feeling of not fitting in socially!”

Who likes to always be that strange guy or girl that sits in the corner trying to hide the lettuce leaf they are eating while the party rages around them. You will definitely have no motivation to lose weight if it means being the social outcast all of the time. You see, when you eat differently than everyone else around you at a social gatherings, at some level you are making people feel judged. I know it isn’t fair but it is fact. Motivation to lose weight will come much easier if your diet plan allows you to eat normally at social functions and, yes, there are such diet plans.

No motivation to lose weight?

Perhaps your “no motivation to lose weight” is due to one or more of the problems we have discussed above. If so, why not find a plan that eliminates or reduces these issues and gives you a chance to have a high motivation to lose weight !
